Hope everyone is having a fun round!

Just a reminder that yesterday (OOC Monday, IC Wednesday) was the deadline for Players to start battling this week. If they have not fought by the end of Wednesday they will begin to lose twenty raks a day. (Unless they have already won the round by collecting six weapons)

Remember, we don't expect you to write out all or even any of your battles; you can handwave as many as you like! Just remember to record them in the battle records.

As far as we can see, the following characters will begin to be penalized on (IC) Thursday.

Fortitude

Sora Himoto (AU)

Any one who fought on Sunday or Monday will have to fight by the end of IC Thursday to prevent being penalised.

If you are in the middle of planning a battle that will be fought ICly on Monday- Wednesday and haven't got round to deciding the winner to put on the Battle Records, please let us know here!

On IC Thurday (OOC: 13th/14th November) a group of prefects moved on to opening the Lake Tower. Blessedly, they didn't mess it up.

This post, as before, is to explain the effects the third tower seal has on Rakuen.

The tower itself hums quietly in a hundred tones as the first prefect touches their plaque, and the noise increases with each prefect's touch. By the end, the hum is a wail of voices, audible from anywhere on the island. And this time, both the Arena Tower and Conquest Tower join in.

At this point, the prefects and anyone near them (ie anyone on the small island in the lake) are blasted backwards by a wave of unseen force with the gate as its centre, landing a few metres away. Which is to say if your character was on the island before, they are probably in the water now. A five-pointed pentagram of black fire shoots from the spire of the tower and burns in the sky over Rakuen.

During this time several things happen:
- The head prefect of Fortitude, Nanami, collapses.
- The remaining staff gather, collect Nanami's body, and lock themselves inside the Mayor's Mansion. If any characters try to talk to them as they retreat, they will wish you luck (some more sarcastically than others) but offer no help whatsoever (some more regretfully than others).
- Every shop and building in the city closes; the streets empty. Townspeople grab their children from their playing and lock themselves in their houses, closing the shutters and shooting fearful glances at the sky.

And, finally, something huge forms from within the star.
Congratulations, Rakuen, you've unlocked your third Tower Guardian, the Black Tortoise of the North. This HUGE BIZARRE MONSTER is the guardian of the lake, with, surprise surprise, mastery over water. Anyone still in the lake by the end of its summoning should probably work on getting out of there as fast as possible, as its primary method of attack is high-pressure waterspouts. Furthermore, it can blast water from either of its mouths with the force of a police water cannon. It will be mostly confined to the lake and its shores, but can be lured further away from its source of water. As a Water elemental, it is weak against the Wood element and strong against Fire, so equip accordingly. If you're using flame weapons, expect to be knocked out quickly. It has extremely high defense, so attackers should expect to make little headway if attacking its shell, and the snake section will lash out independently to prevent flanking. Fighters with high Strength can attempt to flip it over onto its back, or ranged fighters could attack the head or disable the snake.

Obviously, it must be defeated. As usual, only Players can draw weapons, but for the time that the creature is active, the rule against multi-wielding does not apply. That means that Players may draw whichever weapons they want simultaneously and hand them to non-Players to arm them.

The creature will only attack the school buildings unless characters get too close to residential buildings, at which point collateral damage is inevitable. It is powerful but by no means unbeatable. Starred Weapons do more damage against it than ordinary weapons, but all weapons are effective.

No matter what happens, the creature will disappear on IC Friday nightfall (OOC 16th November). If the characters manage to defeat it before then, there will be a reward:

- If this is the third tower that has been opened while the character has been in Rakuen (Characters who were in the city from Round 7 or before) will recieve a small brooch in the shape of their own weapon. There is a note attached that explains that if they take this brooch into any tower they may exchange it for one of the weapons inside. This weapon will be theirs to do with as they chose, and will act as a Weapon's would (except it has no physical Weapon to affect). Any weapon that is broken will 'respawn' on the owner's bed, and if sold back to Recette, they will return to the tower permanently. The brooch may be used only once but can be swapped or sold to other characters. Once placed in a tower the brooch can not be removed, even with another as payment.

If this is the second tower that has been opened while the character has been in Rakuen (characters who were in the city during Round 10) they receive a gorgeous bottle made of ornate blue glass. Inside the bottle is a roll of parchment: instructions. Write a letter addressed to someone in your home world, place it into the bottle and throw it into the lake. You won't get an answer (the recipient doesn't have a magic bottle, after all) but it is guaranteed to reach them. (Note: Letters can be addressed vaguely e.g 'my mother' if it is to a person whose name has been forgotten) Bottles can be traded or given to other characters. If your character doesn't have a use for it, they can give it or sell it to someone who does.

- If this is the first tower that has been opened while the character has been in Rakuen (character who arrived in Round 11 or afterwards) will receive a voucher for use in Rakettear. This voucher allows the character 'one free item'. This can be anything available in Recette's huge catalogue of items from all worlds. Note: previous vouchers have been used to purchase an entire moon, so the sky really isn't the limit.

Items can be sold or swapped or used as bargaining material, whatever your characters wish to do with them.

This post is for any questions and also plotting, if your character will be a discard on IC Thursday, post here so that Players can grab you, emergency battlefield vows are a-go!

Note about death: If you die during this battle you wake up as normal in your bed and can rejoin the fight. Dying in this battle will not give you an undead ring though and if you are counted as a "living" weapon you remain so.
