End of Round 9

Once again it is the end of the round!

Rest day will last from today until 16th June. You can continue to backtag as much as you wish and make posts set in the last round but starting today characters apped in during the past two weeks can arrive in Rakuen. The arrival post is here, and threads for you to register with the head prefects will go up tonight.

Just a reminder to make sure your posts are labeled clearly as to whether they are set on the Rest Day or in Round 9, as for obvious reasons new characters can only take part in Rest Day threads.

- Tournament: Arthur came in third place, their reward is triggering the win conditions gaining themself 10 raks and their Weapons 4 raks each.

Duzell came second place. Their reward is a memory charm as well as triggering the win conditions for themselves and their Weapons.

Stellaluna came first place. Their reward is a small version of the Yellow wyrm of the centre, it is a foot tall and mostly friendly as long as you look after it properly! They also receive a memory charm and trigger the win conditions for this round.

There will be a official ceremony on Saturday afternoon which will go up during rest week for them to collect their prizes. Well done to all who participated, we hope you had fun!

- As a reminder, for the rest day, no one is a Player or a Weapon, so you can go wherever you like in the town. You can also go and apply for jobs, which will earn you 5 raks per rest day. Jobs are available in most places, such as various shops, restaurants and the cinema. You will also get free entry or a discount to wherever you work! Remember to let us know on the job application post.

- RAKS. Here is how to work out how many Raks your character has by the end of this round.
New characters had twenty (20) raks to start with.

1. If your character taught or attended classes this week, they got one rak per day, not including the rest day. Add 6 raks.

2. Whatever your role (Player/Weapon) or outcome, you earn 3 raks per battle. Tally up the battles your character participated in, and multiply that by 3.

3. Players earn 5 raks for every Weapon they win or vow with, no matter whether they still own them by the end of the round. Count how many Weapons your character owned throughout the round, and multiply that by 5.

4. Did your Player character win the round? They get 10 raks.

5. Are you a Weapon belonging to a winning Player (see above)? You get 4 raks. For a list of all Round Winners look here

6. Did your characters buy anything during the round? Subtract the raks for that now.

7. At the end of the round, the dominant school gives 10 raks to every character. This round Conquest won as they won the tournament.

8. Rest day job? Add 5 raks.

That's your rak total!

- Sign ups for next round are here and will be open until 13th June, when the Players will be announced.

I hope everyone has a great rest day week!

THE NEW MOON AND YOU: An Introduction to Homestuck Dreaming

So as of This Post, Jade Harley has officially bought and received an entire moon! This post is basically a simple explanation of the mechanics of Dreaming from Homestuck, for people who might not be so up on their updates.

Basically: Prospit is a golden moon! It is the same size as a regular moon, but a little bit different. Instead of a barren wasteland, it's an entire city, made entirely of gold. In Homestuck, if you are a Prospit Dreamer, once you Awaken you get to live in your sleep on this pretty damn cool moon! The people who live there -- white carapace called Prospitians -- love their dreamers. They practically worship them! It is a mystical place...well, straight out of a dream. Prospit is also special because people who are awake there can witness visions of the past, present and future, if you know how to look at the clouds of Skaia in just the right way. There is also another moon, called Derse, but since no one has bought that one, there remains only one available dreaming moon right now.

SO WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU IS:
Anyone can dream on Prospit. Even people who are not from Homestuck or people from Homestuck who are technically Derse dreamers! All you have to do is buy the pendant.
Anyone can buy a Dreamboat Pendant. That means you (yes, you!) can dream on Prospit too! If you put it on before you fall asleep, you will have a physical experience on this new moon that has appeared. This Pendant is 12 Raks from Recette!
• A Dream Self is a projection of reality! Although in Homestuck they are very real bodies, here they are just visual representations of the real things. The body can't leave the moon, and you can't technically die. So even if you attempt to kill a bunch of dreamers, all you'll do is wake them up in the real world. If you die on Prospit: you will wake up back in Rakuen. However, when you fall asleep again, you'll be right back on Prospit.
• Your Dream Self gets FANCY GOLDEN PAJAMAS.
• The NPCs on Prospit are exactly like the Rakuen NPCs: although some of them may be familiar to the Homestuck Prospit dreamers (ie: the White Queen, PM, etc.) they are not the characters from home and have absolutely no recollection of any experiences they are supposed to have had back there. They only remember the Prospit that is here, and the events that happen in Rakuen.
• The visions from the clouds no longer tell the future. This is probably the most important! They still tell stuff, however....they now show all possible pasts, presents, and futures from every universe in existence. So you can't actually see what's going to happen next in Rakuen. But hey, you may be able to see yourself being born as an alien or exploring the Land of Ooo! Isn't that nifty!

So, go! Frolic in a carefree way! Prospit is the perfect place for people who might have nightmares to escape from those. There are no nightmares on Prospit. Only fun dreams and fun time. :')
