Another beta testing update

Hey, everyone! We're now three and a half weeks into rakuen's beta period. There've been some bumps in the road, but thanks to you guys being so awesome, it's gone pretty well so far.

Round -1 ends next Monday, and the beta period ends next Friday. As you might be able to guess, that means Round 0 is going to be a little... unique. There'll be more on that when it gets closer to Monday. For now, we have a few announcements!

Applications are currently closed.

Due to the nature of Round 0, we're going to hold off on processing new apps until Friday, January 28. If you currently have a reservation, you may still apply. You may choose to have your character show up during the current round or at the beginning of Round 0, or you can wait until Round 1 starts. It's up to you!

If you don't currently have a reservation, you can still post apps, but we won't be looking at them until the 28th.

We have a HMD.

It's here. Whilst it's mostly there to serve as a way to fine-tune your characters before the end of the beta &c, there are also threads for mod feedback - any comments about how we as moderators are doing - and game feedback - issues related explicitly to the game, rather than our handling of it.

The character limit will be increasing.

After the beta, the maximum number of characters any one player can have will be increasing from three to five. Anyone currently at the limit may place reserves from Round 0 onwards.

For our records:

Is anybody planning to drop or reset their characters after the beta period? You're free to do either, though of course you can also keep them around if you'd like! Whilst we're assuming (and hoping!) that most of you will be carrying on with your characters through to the game proper, we just want to get a headcount of anyone who's thinking about doing otherwise.

We are now advertising for the game.

As mentioned in the HMD last week, we would be delighted if anyone wanted to post our ad in their own journals. We're also looking for ideas on which communities to recruit from, fandom or otherwise. You can get the code for the rakuen ad here at Ketsu's journal.

App cycles.

For now, we're planning to keep applications open constantly; however, after the beta period ends, new students will only be able to arrive at the beginning of the round, probably on the free day between rounds when no character is a Player or a Weapon. The tram arriving will be a weekly event.

Speaking of "weekly"...

We've decided that the simplest OOC:IC time ratio is two real weeks to one game week. This means that rounds will last one week in-game, and two weeks out of game. Of course, you're always free to back-tag threads from earlier in the week, or even from the previous round, so feel free to do so!

1. There's a couple of RP ad places on LJ and then also (while I avoid going on it), there's RPS. RPS is probably the easiest but also the most effective (because active RP people go on it) way to reach a large audience.

2. Kallen was my character though most of the beta. I'm keeping her as is, for a heads up. I probably won't intro Mikoto until round 0.

I think I made one with no images or tables once awhile back, when everyone was omging about ATP. Iiii just don't have it on this particular computer right now.
