the Utopia HMD meme

That's right, kids! We asked, you agreed, and now we're running a feedback post until the end of the beta for that last-minute fine-tuning of all your colourful characters. Or just for everyone else to gush over them. Both are equally valid uses of this meme.

★ Be constructive with criticism. If you have a criticism, make sure to include how they can improve on that point!
☆ Feel free to just post compliments if you can't think of any concrit. ♥
★ Anonymous commenting is enabled, but the same rules apply. If a comment is out of order, we'll delete it.

★ Leave feedback on our modding, too! The first comment is for you to point out where we can improve on running the game as mods, and the second is for aspects of the game themselves.

I have some reservations about tagging Sherlock. He seems like a cool character, but from the way you talk about him in chat (and the other OC you were thinking of apping too) it seems like you aren't as interested in playing him as a character as you are in showing everyone how special and awesome he is.

...wow! I would never in a million years have called that. Thank you for telling me.

Okay. Here it is straight from the heart:

Yeah I think he is pretty amazing, all things considered, which is why I love playing him so much. I am also massively insecure about him, because I am aware of how utterly ridiculous on every conceivable level he must look from the outside. And like, people keep telling me he's awesome? So I guess they probably think so? But I am still pretty convinced that there is no chance anyone will just give him a shot right off the bat. And that might be why I spend so much time talking him up. So, sorry about that. And now you know.

as for the OC-ish person, Lenny Lane? I think that was me squeeing about the ridiculously wonderful game mechanics of Echo Bazaar (which are, in fact, ridiculously wonderful) and the effect they had on eir character development. But yes. Also probably a place where I should be toning down the wild enthusiasm.

Some time later:

I guess I am having some trouble figuring out exactly what kinds of things I've been saying that come off that way. It would be a big help if you'd give me some more specific examples of statements that have tended in that direction so I'd know what I should avoid repeating.

Basically, it's stuff like... you're always saying things like "Sherlock is so awesome" and constantly pointing out his quirks, and I mean it's cool for people to talk about their characters - everyone does it! - but it seems to be the only thing you talk about.

And the conversation yesterday bout how he should sleep on the roof or whatever, it just seemed like you were going out of your way to have him be weird and strange. I mean, Elle was talking about how Kotarou doesn't sleep in his dorm, but he has an actual reason: He doesn't know he has one. Sherlock does know, and it's been something like two weeks since he's shown up, so... if he would have had a problem with it, shouldn't it have come up before?

Well, I noticed the dorm thing earlier, I just never got around to bringing it up. He freaks out at the thought of sleeping in a room with other people. I guess I should've called that before I even apped him, considering his behaviour in other contexts, but I didn't realize the extent of the problem until I saw someone was rooming with him and really thought about it.

It would've been easier for him to indulge his paranoia back when he had only one roommate, but now that the room is full, I think his next character arc is going to involve the effects of extended sleep deprivation.
