ANNOUNCEMENT: Valentine's Day Event
So some of you have been wondering when we're going to get off our arses and tell you about our new car insurance the Valentine's Day event.
THE WAIT IS OVER.
But wait, I hear you say. Time isn't 1:1 in Rakuen! It won't be February the 14th in-game for ages! Fear not. Rakuen is a different world, and has its own customs. For example, it does not officially recognise Valentine's Day! What it does recognise is Red Day, held on January the 17th, or in-game Thursday of Round 3. This conveniently happens to coincide with February the 14th OOC. Zany. It's also biannual, so it'll still coincide with the 14th next year. Amazing.
Red Day is a biannual public holiday celebrating the bonds between warriors. Its symbol is the heart, the vital organ, and it is traditional - any NPC worth their salt will excitedly tell you - to give out gifts to worthy opponents or valued allies. This gift is usually in the form of food, but can also be something handmade. Sometimes, gifts even come in the form of poems or verses extolling the honour, martial prowess, or sheer bloodthirstiness of the recipient. Characters will be encouraged to give gifts to anyone they've battled with or against in the past, or intend to battle in the future.
There is a celebration for anyone intending to Link through the Exaclan system - after all, the day celebrates Battle Partners as well as Worthy Adversaries - and it is considered auspicious to Link on Red Day. The shop will be selling the necklace sets at half price for the entire day, too.
Over the course of Round 3, leading up to Thursday, characters can observe NPCs going around putting up red and pink decorations around the town. The more approachable ones might be asked if they have any plans for Red Day, or if they have any gifts in mind. Shopkeepers will start to stock food in special red packages.
Questions? Ask them here!
